20 times home in our favorite rooms

Your very own holiday (dream) rooms
"Sleep! What more could you want?" Goethe, who was a huge fan of South Tyrol in his day, already knew this. And in almost all of our rooms you can not only get a great night's sleep, but also enjoy a magnificent view of the Schlern or Raschötz, two majestic peaks of the Dolomites, from your balcony. Other than that? Fragrant wood paneling, local alpine soap in the bathroom and a few cozy extras make our 20 rooms a home away from home.

One of the most important questions! Your day at Rösslwirt starts with a hearty breakfast buffet from 07:30 to 10:00 am, including many regional products: Homemade yoghurt, fresh eggs from hen Erna, farmer's ham directly from the butcher and from our own meat production (Barbianer Hornochse), homemade jams, tasty alpine cheese, seasonal fruit and vegetables and of course good coffee! In the evening, our guests can look forward to fantastic South Tyrolean dishes from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm - the "Rösslwirt evening menu", including a salad buffet. Traditional dishes, passed down from generation to generation, with regional ingredients from Barbian and South Tyrol - this is what home tastes like at the Rösslwirt!

Monday is "going out day", so the kitchen stays cold in the evening and we devote ourselves to our families. For you, this means: extra time to explore our homeland without rushing. Discover the mountain world on one of the many hiking trails on the Villanderer Alm or spend the day in the snow. Then we recommend a detour to the surrounding villages - how about a cozy dinner in the medieval alleyways of Klausen or Brixen? That way you won't go to bed hungry and will have seen South Tyrol from its most beautiful and tasty side.
We provide one garage space per room free of charge. Please note: the maximum height is 2.35 meters. For electric cars we have our own e-charging point (type 2 / Mennekes 22 kW) in our garage - because we move with the times!
On Tuesdays throughout the year, a local hiking guide will take you to the most beautiful places around Barbian. From the end of May to October, we recommend you visit our hotel's own mountain hut on Wednesdays - a wonderful one-hour hike including a South Tyrolean snack! All those who like to explore the surrounding area on their own will find numerous hiking routes starting from our hotel. Or you can simply ask us, because nobody knows the region as well as the locals! If Resi is in a good mood (which she always is), she will give you one or two insider tips on top! What's more: as our guests, you will receive our Rösslwirt evening post hot off the press every day - with the weather forecast for the coming day as well as exciting insider tips for excursions and activities in South Tyrol!
Yes, we have a drying room for hiking boots, hiking clothing, motorcycle clothing and ski boots.

Homely and sustainable

Save the Heimat! Sustainability and energy optimization are very important to us. All rooms in the main building are equipped with an innovative combination of controlled ventilation, ceiling heating and cooling. This environmentally friendly technology improves the living climate and ensures a pleasant coolness - without any disturbing noises or draughts. The waste heat is used to heat water and the electricity required comes directly from our own photovoltaic system on the roof. We also use several heat pumps to make optimum use of every energy source.
